Contents
Per 5 mL Bromhexine HCl 4 mg, K guaiacolsulfonate 100 mg
Indications/Uses
Secretolytic & expectorant in acute & chronic bronchopulmonary disease associated w/ abnormal mucus secretion & impaired mucus transport.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 2 tsp. Childn 6-12 yr 1 tsp, 2-6 yr ½ tsp. To be taken tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Special Precautions
SJS & Lyell's syndrome. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, mild GI side effects have been reported w/ bromhexine. Very rarely, allergic reactions eg, skin rashes, urticaria, bronchospasm, angioedema, anaphylaxis.
Drug Interactions
May lead to higher antibiotic conc in lung tissue.
